Road Trip

July 23, 2008

On the Road again.

After some packing we loaded the U-Haul and away we went. There are a bunch of trees in florida. We stopped to get dinner and at the orange citrus stand with the 13 FOOT alligator you see every 10 miles or so along the turnpike.  Being from the big city we decided to ask about the 13 foot alligator, the conversation went like this:

Chris:  Is that 13 foot alligator here?

Citrus Stand Dude: yep (in deep monotone voice)

Chris: WOW, where is it.

Citrus Stand Dude: It around the side (pointing)

Chris: Is it awake this time of night?

Citrus Stand Dude: Nope. (in deep monotone voice)

Chris: It is a bad idea to wake it up then I guess, right?

Citrus Stand Dude: Yep. (in deep monotone voice)

Other Citrus Stand Dude: We do have a electric prod that will shock it for shop lifters and such if you want us to wake it for ya.

Chris: Na, we will just see it sleeping its ok.

Other Citrus Stand Dude: Well then, suit yourself.

We then purchased our shot glasses and went to see the 13 foot alligator. There she was a 13’ stuffed alligator behind glass in all its splendor. (Shot glass tip: If you are purchasing a shot glass for someone else. Buy one with your name on it, that way they know who gave it to them.)

About Bill Debevc

I am a Event and Architectural Photographer located in Las Vegas, NV that is ever looking for that next great photo. Architectural Photography takes a patient and skill eye. The patient part is developing your skill, and understanding your subject. Not everyone can be a great architectural photographer, you need to have a keen eye for what makes the building or space great. You need to interface with the design staff asking what is important about this space, what makes it great, what are you most proud of, what was your design intent. At the start of the project the client is in charge, only after understanding what the client is looking for can correctly make suggestions. It is all about working with the client to create something that we both can be proud of and show the space in its best possible way. Event photography is completely different from architectural photography, I capture moments of time of dance and sports. In order to capture that decisive moment in sports or dance you must understand the event you are photographing, you must know what is coming next otherwise you will miss it. Events are once in a lifetime experience that you must capture correctly the first time, every time. If you would like to contact me you may by email: sshaphotos@me.com. I look forward to helping you capture your life and achievements. Bill Debevc
